“Bekas” is the Russian name for the snipe, a wading bird of marshes and wet meadows, with brown camouflaged plumage, a long straight bill, and typically a drumming display flight.
The concave sharpening of the blade helps to achieve a particular fineness and sharpness of the cutting edge. The both sides of the blade perform a thematic “tattoo” in the Russian style.

Kizlyar Bekas-2 is a broad blade multifunctional utility and hunting knife. Its 3/32 inch thick blade is just the right size for the knife to be used both in the kitchen and outdoors, around the campsite.
The cozy thumb rest on the back of the blade allows the holder to put extra force on the belly of the knife to cut through various hard and tough substances.
The blade is artfully decorated with a deep pattern of a snipe, the bird which gave the knife its Russian name – Bekas.
