Product Description
As for its actual destiny, the knife is an outstanding multi-functional hunting knife with tough, and at the same time rather thin blade, which easily performs both cutting and skinning tasks. It is a greatest skinning knife for large game, the likes of buffalos, large deer etc.
The 3/32” thick Ryback’s blade is relatively thinner than that of most other Kizlyar knives. However it is designed this way to serve as light, very fast and super sharp blade, great for carving meat, skinning and performing a widest range camping and kitchen tasks.
The butt has a groove for the support of the thumb at the place of its contiguity to the hilt.
The handle is made of the carefully crafted, resin impregnated Caucasian walnut, permanently fastened to the full tang with solid stainless steel rivets. A small portion of the tang is exposed at the end of the handle, presenting a lanyard hole.
The knife is completed with a handmade sheath of strong genuine leather decorated with an embossed thematic ornamented pattern.
The knife is not considered a cold arms and has the relevant Certificate of Confirmation.
Results of the Ryback-2 Kizlyar Knife testing based on customer reviews.
“Whatever may be said, but the name given to any subject affects its perception –“how do you call a boat, so she will float.” Once the knife is called Ryback (Fisherman), I won’t hunt for the mammoth with it, I, and won’t cut roofing material either. But I will go on a fishing trip. Tacking the size of the knife – on a deep-sea fishing, there is a bigger fish.”
“The knife is very beautiful and suits well as a gift – for those who are working with a knife (it’s not a souvenir!).
The thickness of the cutting edge: at the heel (ricasso) – 0.026 in; in the middle of the arc-shaped rise to the tip – 0.023 in. The handle slabs are flawlessly adjusted to the shank. The rivets heads are set very carefully. The handle is polished to a mirror shine. After contact with water the sheen turned into matt. Though the tactile sensation did not changed, the wood did not become rough.
The handle is very ergonomic and it self-centers as compressing in the palm.
Shaving quality – shaves with ease, no irritation.”
“Finally I got to fish. It is very convenient to cut the fish into pieces, the blade’s length helps. The bones were cut tightly – sometimes I pressed the butt with the left hand.
Once out on the nature I tried to cut the cane for the tent bedding. The result is excellent. Long and wide blade allows you to mow almost without looking.”
Conclusion: “The kitchen, including field, is the hobbyhorse of the knife. To cut a salad on a cutting board is just fun, but it is not very comfortable to peel potatoes with it.
Thick branches up to two fingers are cut / chopped pretty well. To cut pegs for fire, spinning, and the like is easy. But chopping wood is not for the “fisherman”.
