Behind the shield, on the vertical beams of the cross, there is a sword with golden hilt and blade. In the lower part of the blade there is plate with the inscription: “SPETSNAZ”. At the top of the pin badge is placed the abbreviation which stands for “Russian Interior Ministry Troops”.
On the back of the pin badge there is a screw for fastening it to the uniform.
The black bat with outstretched webbed wings is the common emblem of the units of Special Forces and Military Intelligence.
The cross symbolizes adherence to historical tradition of rewarding soldiers, sailors and junior officers with the Order of St. George.

Interior Troops Spetsnaz is a special operations unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) performing tasks in specific environments with a high level of training.
The Separate Division of Operational Purpose (ODON) named after F. E. Dzerzhinsky was established on the basis of the 1st and 8th units of Spetsnaz. Its motto is: “Any task at any time and place!”. Regalia: the Orders of Lenin, of the October Revolution, of the Red Banner. Talisman: panther – a symbol of bravery, courage and knightly chivalry.
The 7th Special Forces Detachment “ROSICH” was formed in 1992 on the basis of the training special purpose companies of the 100th Interior Troops Division: 46th Regiment “Lion”, 47th Regiment “Scorpion”, 48th Regiment “Typhoon”. It is a part of the Novocherkassk Division situated on the territory of the Internal Troops Training Center of the North Caucasus Military District.
19th Detachment “Yermak” – Spetsnaz with Siberian nature. The squad is named after the historical person of the 16th century – the conqueror of Siberia to the Russian state, the Cossack Ataman Yermak Kalashnikov, who was a man of unbending will and great courage. The detachment is located in Novosibirsk, Central Siberia.
21st Spetsnaz Detachment “Typhoon” is place the Far Eastern Khabarovsk Territory. The symbol of the squad is a snarling Siberian Tiger, which is the northernmost tiger in the world.
For courage and heroism performed in the North Caucasus region, more than 170 servicemen of the detachment were awarded state awards.
25th Separate Spetsnaz Detechment “Mercury” named after Mercury of Smolensk – a great Slavic man-at-war of the 13th century. The entire history of the detachment is connected with the constant use of working dogs.That is why its symbol is a double-headed dog looking in different directions.
Few people know that during the Chechen war the bandits paid more money for killing a handler with a dog than for killing a Spetsnaz officer.
