The pin badge is made of silvery and goldish metal with enamel in the form of an oval laurel and oak wreath interwoven with a ruby-red ribbon; in the center of the wreath there is an additional relief emblem of the Special Forces (Spetsnaz) of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) – a bat with outstretched webbed wings against the background of an opened parachute canopy; there is an image of a optical sight reticule on the parachute straps and an inscription “SPETSNAZ” on the canopy; in the lower part of the wreath there is a relief image of two crossed scout knives, soldier’s belt buckle with a five-pointed star and a red figured ribbon with an inscription: “VALOR AND MASTERY”.
On the reverse side of the pin badge there is a screw for fastening it to the military uniform.
