Product Description
The relationship of these two protections of the saint is well seen from the fact that soldiers are more likely to be wounded, are more in need of a physician – healer.
Since ancient times St. Pantaleon is the patron saint of physicians. The prayers of the sick, addressed to him with faith, bring relief, heal physical and mental ailments.
The Icon of Saint Pantaleon depicts the martyr young and beardless, which is considered a rarity in the iconography. He is in the apparel, which is traditional to healers. In his right hand there is a long-handled spoon, in the left – a medicine coffer.
The icon is addressed by the believers asking for the healing of various physical and mental ailments, as in life Saint Pantaleon treated gratis all the suffering, the needy and the sick.
Pantaleon made serving the suffering and miserable his life’s work. He attended the persecuted Christians in prison, even healed the sick from incurable illnesses, gave his property to the needy. St. Pantaleon owed a healing talent, but beyond that he possessed great faith in God and knew how to treat with the invocation of the name of Christ.
The name of the healer is called during the sacrament Anointing of the sick and at the consecration of water.
They pray before the Icon of Saint Pantaleon not only for the healing of ailments, but also for protection of seafarers, physicians, midwives, livestock, lottery, lottery winners, lottery tickets, invoked against headaches, consumption, locusts, witchcraft, accidents and loneliness, helper for crying children.
By our faith is given to us, and the desperate sick receive a welcome help from the holy icon.
