Product Description
The beret consists of four major parts: the soft round cap, the bulging flat crown, the tight fitted headband with no brim, the lining.
The cap and the crown are sewn of wool, the headband is made of artificial leather.
On the back side of the beret there is a self-fabric carrier with a cord to fit the beret on the head, on the sides – the ventilation holes (grommets).
The lining is made of a lightweight breathable material.
At the point of the contact of the head with the inside of the beret, there is a rhombus leather protective patch sewn to the lining.
Benefits of the beret: does not require maintaining a strictly predetermined shape, is not blown away by the wind, and at the same time sufficiently covers the head in a cold day, can be easily folded for storage or transportation.
Colors of berets of Russian Armed Forces:
The blue – Airborne Troops (VDV) and Special Troops of Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU).
GRU Special Troops is the only troops who can wear uniform of almost every type of the armies (airborne forces, signal troops, chemists etc.). It is connected with the raised level of secrecy in the places of the GRU Spetsnaz dislocation, in other words – it is a kind of camouflage. The most of the divisions of GRU Special Troops carry blue berets of the Airborne Troops.
The black – Marines, Special Purpose Groups of Police, Assault Units of Coastal Troops, Tank Troops.
The maroon is characteristic for the detachments of Interior Troops Spetsnaz. The right to wear a maroon beret is given only after taking a standard test or as an award for special merits.
The green – reconnaissance. The right to wear a green beret is given only after taking a standard test or as an award for special merits.
The light-green is an element of the full dress uniform of the Board Guards.
The forest green (olive) – detachments of the Spetsnaz, intelligence of the MIA Interior Troops and Nuclear Engineers.
The right to wear a forest green beret, as well as a green or maroon, is given only after taking a standard test or as an award for special merits.
