Product Description
Named after the largest fresh water lakes on the Earth, the Kizlyar Baikal is a medium size super-tough utility knife that can be efficiently used in a situation of any kind. Be it a simple camp task, a more serious survival situation or even a heavy combat duty.
The blade is of a modern clip-point design, which actually points down from the very middle of the knife’s spine and yet has a most sharp point similar to classic clip-points.
The false edge of the knife is not sharpened, however its leading edge is merely 1/64 inch thick, thus it has an immense piercing ability.
The newest ‘river’ series of the Kizlyar knives feature a unique hidden full tang design, whereby the extremely durable Elastron G handle is molded over the tang pressing the guard firmly into place. To ensure the handle will not work its way loose an additional steel pommel is bolted into the bottom of the tang, which acts both as a retainer as well as creating a hard curved surface for breaking ice, glass, etc.
Handy submersible-type sheath is made of thick genuine leather. It can be mounted both to the waist belt and on the free suspension.
The hand-made Kizlyar knives are manufactured in Daghestan, a mountaineous contry in the East of the Nortern Caucasus, since 1990. The manufacturer has an excellent reputation for high-quality blades and affordable prices.
In 1995 the Kizlyar received their export license.
The company bases their knife manufacturing on centuries-old smith traditions. They incorporate ancient methods into modern technologies to produce outstanding knives of a highest quality. The Kizlyar knives are still hand-made and individually tested before leaving the factory. These ensure the highest level of quality control. The manufacturer don’t outsource their labour to other countries, though their prices are still kept reasonable, competitive and attractive.
The Kizlyar knives are considered Russia’s best, and they are so well thought of, that the Prime Minister of Russia gives to war heroes and VIP-guests of the Kremlin.
Each of the Kizlyar knives has an individual serial number giving it a personal touch.
