Product Description
The newest ‘river’ series of the Kizlyar knives feature a unique hidden full tang design, whereby the extremely durable Elastron G handle is molded over the tang pressing the guard firmly into place. To ensure the handle will not work its way loose an additional steel pommel is bolted into the bottom of the tang, which acts both as a retainer as well as creating a hard curved surface for breaking ice, glass, etc.
The knife is delivered with a submersible-type sheath made of thick genuine leather. It can be mounted both to the waist belt and on the free suspension.
The knife does not apply to melee weapons.
There are knives that suit everyone. Cut branches, shave stakes, slice food, open cans… The Kizlyar Irtysh is just the knife of that kind. Its blade is very finely and accurately sharpen. So, it shaves the forearm with one sweep.
The design of the blade makes it possible to use the knife for throwing, it is not afraid of side loads while using it as a lever.
The handle of the knife is composite: its inner part is made of plastic, the outer – of Elastron G. It is mounted via rater unusuar push-through way. The shank of the blade, corresponding to 2/3 of the length of the handle, is tensioned with the pommel with the nut and screw.
The guard and the handle butt, in their turn, are separate steel elements, whose processing, despite of ther complex form, does not give any rise to unfavorable criticism.
The knife, in spite of its massiveness, is well balanced. The center of gravity is located just below the index finger. This balance is achieved, among other things, with a successful construction. The Elastron handle is very usable. The total sales and surveys have shown that there are no customers who do not like the handle of the knife. The knife lies confident in hand, even if you grip it with wet hands. The broad robust guard secures the palm during heavy duties.
Despite its dimentions, you can’t but value a finest tapering of the knife. It is not a scalpel, but 1/32 inch is rather a praiseworthy rate. The concave slopes coming from the middle of the blade, combined with the fine tapering, provide the perfect cut.
We recommend to everyone who haven’t hold a Kizlyar knife of the “River” series, get to know at least one of them.
