To lock the blade in the open position the Irbis uses a liner-lock. This construction completely eliminates the possibility of unauthorized folding of the blade during operation.
The blade is tapering to the tip. The grind is wedge-like, from the butt. On the butt, in the place of the connection with the casing of the handle, there is a corrugated support for the thumb when the power cut. The fillet from the pommel makes handy the work in the handle-grip with an emphasis in the palm, for example, in necessity to cut something with the tip.
The handle of is made of natural Caucasian walnut impregnated with a waterproof compound. The clamping screws are made of stainless steel.
On the blade there is a pin, which promotes one hand opening of the knife.
The knife does not refer to melee weapons.
