Product Description
During the years since its launch in 2006, the knife has become the manufacturer’s best selling utility knife all over Europe and Noth America. It is a most popular among fishermen, campers and small game hunters.
The 5/32 inch thick blade is made of Z60 steel hardened to 56-58 HRC. Almost 0.5% of carbon allows the blade to keep its edge sharp even when used heavily. At the same time, being relatively mild hardened, the steel allows easy sharpening with even basic equipment.
The Taran Kizlyar Knife continues the Scandinavian Nord (Finskiy) series of knives.
This model obtained a new blade, the prototype of which is the legendary scout knife HP-40 launched in 1940. This combat knife was put into service in the USSR Red Army, and it became the ancestor of the AK-47 bayonet. The light and narrow 7/8 inch blade allowed to stab it between the ribs of the enemy with the least resistance.
From its progenitor, the Taran differs with the shape of the handle, as well as lack of typical for cold steel s-shaped guard convenient for stabbing.
The knife comes with an ultra durable Elastron-G handle which shape differs from that of the basic model. The handle bears a small stop and protruding corrugations on the finger-groove part. Thus the knife has become much safer in the hand held. This contributes to the properties of the elastomer which feels like rubber. The handle does not slip even in a humid environment. The lanyard hole is made of a flared stainless steel tube.
The knife comes with the immersion-type leather sheath with an additional suspension loop, which gives a considerable freedom. The sheath can be fastened not only in the standard way – on the belt, but can also be hanged handle down on the tactical load-bearing vest.
The knife does not apply to melee weapons and has the confirming certificate.
