A fabric shield-shaped pentagonal patch, elongated downwards, with a curved top and a goldish edging.
The shield can be black – for the Police, or blue-gray – for the Justice.
In the center of the emblem is the image of the waving national flag of Russia.
On the officer sleeve patches there is the additional emblem of the MVD (MIA) on the top of the flag. The MVD emblem is a golden double-headed eagle with outstretched wings, holding the scepter and the orb, topped with one large and two smaller crowns.
On the eagle’s chest there is a round shield with a foot soldier spearing a dragon. The shield is superimposed on two golden crossed swords.
The inscription at the top of the patch reads: “RUSSIA”, at the bottom is the abbreviation “MVD”.
