The sign is the emblem of the Orenburg Cossack Army adapted for the Armed Forces.
The sleeve patch is a round shield divided into two parts by the curly Guards ribbon. In the upper part of red color, there is an image of the infantry fighting vehicle (BMP- 2).
In the lower part of golden – a bow and two crossed arrows pointed upward. Along the perimeter there is the text divided by a red five-pointed star: “Orenburg Cossack Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment.”
In comparison with the original emblem of the Orenburg Cossack Army, where the central elements of the image are separated by a wide blue stripe symbolizing the Ural River, the emblem of the Regiment’s sleeve patch is divided with the Guards ribbon – the sign of personal valor on the battlefield.
The colors of the ribbon – black and yellow – means “smoke and flame.”
The red field of the emblem denotes respect and continuity of military traditions of the Regiment.
The symbols of the Orenburg Cossacks – the bow and arrows on the gold background – are left unchanged.
