The National Center for Nuclear Risk Reduction is a structure of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It carries out activities in the field of the monitoring of the implementation of international treaties and agreements on the limitation of armed forces and armaments, and building international confidence in the military sphere.
The most significant in political and military terms are the following: the Treaty between The United States of America and the Russian Federation on Measures for the Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (New START); the Treaty on Open Skies (OS), the 2011 Vienna Document on the Confidence and Security-Building Measures; agreements with China on Mutual Reduction of the Armed Forces in the Border Area and on the Confidence-Building Measures in the Military Field.
