A circular black fabric patch with golden edging.
The central image of the patch is a silver anchor, over which are imposed a diving helmet and a shield with the year of the founding of the School: “1882.”
To the both sides of the anchor there are waving flags of the Russian Federation and the Navy.
The inscription along the top perimeter of the patch reads: “DIVING SCHOOL”, on the curly ribbon at the bottom there is the motto: “Skill and Courage.”
The world’s first diving school was found in Kronstadt on May 5, 1882 by the Emperor Alexander III’s order. In Europe it was an honor to go for training in Kronstadt at that time.
The Navy requires two main categories of divers: those who fulfill of combat tasks, and those who provide submarine technical, emergency and rescue works.
The divers provide all the necessary conditions to the troops.
They reconnoiter the sea bottom and the coast line in the places of the Marine Corps landing and the ships mooring. They detect and defuse mines and landmines, assist submarines in emergency, take part in vessels repairing, detect and identify the sunken equipment.
