The sleeve patch represents a black oval shield with golden trim, fringed with golden oak branches at the bottom.
On the shield there is a white foot figure of St. George spearing a dragon, and holding a triangular shield with the State Emblem of the Russian Federation.
At the top of the oval shield there is a goldish ribbon with an edging and the inscription “Central Office”, made in black letters.
At the bottom of the sleeve patch there is a plate with a white edging and the inscription “MVD” (MIA) in black letters.
The sleeve patch was established by the Order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation No 242 of April 30, 1996.
The sleeve patches of the officers of the organs for internal affairs, according to their belonging to respective services, are worn on the right sleeve of the uniform, 3 ½ inches below the top of the sleeve.
