The sleeve patch is a carved from cloth heraldic triangular shield with concave upper corners, fringed with a coiled cord departing from the edges.
In the center of the emblem there is a plate with the colors of Russian National Flag, entwined with laurel and oak leaves, and a curly ribbon with the inscription “Federal Border Service.”
The whole composition is crowned a double-headed eagle with scepter and orb. On the eagle’s chest there is a red shield with is a horseman slaying a dragon.
The Russian Federal Border Service sleeve patch of the standard was released in three colors: green – for Border Troops, black – for the Coast Guards, blue (cornflower) – for the Border Troops Aviation.
The sleeve insignia plays an educational role, helping to create a sense of corporate pride, loyalty, martial traditions. That is why the presentation of the sleeve patch is conducted by the commander in solemn, personally to each soldier.
