The key elements of the sleeve patch:
The waving tricolor National Flag of Russia. The white color means peace, purity, chastity; the blue – faith, fidelity and truth; the red – constancy, energy, strength, courage and blood shed for the Fatherland.
In the center of the patch there is a stylized image of a car with the identification flashing light.
The inscriptions on the patch read:
“GAI” – State Motor Vehicle Inspection;
at the bottom perimeter – “Traffic Police Patrol”.
The Traffic Police Patrol is a structural subdivision of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, a part of the Police. It appeared in Russia in 1918.
The main objectives of the Traffic Police are the preservation of life, health and property of road users; protection of their legitimate rights and interests; ensuring the safe and uninterrupted movement of vehicles; prevention and suppression of crime on the roads.
