The 19th Special Forces Detachment of Russian Interior Troops “Ermak” was formed on January 4, 1999.
“Ermak” is the Special Forces squad of Siberian nature. The Spetsnaz fighter is neither skills, nor a profession. The Spetsnaz fighter is a way of life.
The fighters of the squad systematically perform combat duty in missions in the North Caucasus region. Its objectives remain the same – to fight against illegal armed groups and individual criminals.
For courage, bravery and selflessness performed in the elimination of illegal armed groups in the North Caucasus more than 130 soldiers of the detachment were awarded orders and medals, 24 soldiers were presented to the state award and more than half of the personnel were awarded the decoration “For distinguished service.”

The sleeve insignia of the 19th Special Forces Detachment of Russian Interior Troops.
The squad is named after the historical person of the 16th century – the conqueror of Siberia to the Russian state, a Cossack Ataman Ermak Kalashnikov, a man of unbending will and great courage.
The place of dislocation of the detachment is the city of Novosibirsk, Central Siberia.
The sleeve patch represents the traditional emblem of the Soviet and Russian Spetsnaz – a fist clenched on the background of a red five-pointed star – the symbol of unity, friendship and combat brotherhood, and a Kalashnikov rifle – a symbol of readiness to defend the homeland.
At the top there is a maroon beret – the symbol of the highest combat merit in the Spetsnaz.
At the bottom there is a curly ribbon bearing the name of the squad: “ERMAK”.
