The chest pin badge is made of a goldish metal with colored enamels.
It is a relief emblem of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB): the triangular elongated downward shield with carved top corners and a silvery edging. In the red field of the shield there is a superimposed stylized image of a golden double-headed eagle with raised wings, holding the scepter and orb, topped with a large and two smaller crowns. On the eagle’s chest there is an image of a horseman spearing a dragon.

The patch for the field uniform represents a fabric rhombus stripe with a greenish-brown edging the heraldic emblem of the bodies of the Federal Security Service in the center.
“Honorary Officer of KGB” is the highest departmental award of the State Security Committee of the USSR. The last awarding of the pin badge took place in 1990. During the period of its existing award 7,375 people were awarded with it.
The pin badge was awarded to military and civilian personnel of the Committee of State Security (KGB) and the Border Troops for their outstanding achievements in the service, displaying initiative and perseverance.

The commemorative pin badge was awarded together with the Certificate of Merit to the military and civilian personnel who have served in the armed forces of the KGB, including the border troops, for not less than 10 years, as well as other citizens of the Soviet Union who to assisted in resolving the tasks entrusted to the State Security Committee.
Dog tag “The Coastguard of the Federal Security Service” is made of stainless steel with enamel.
It is a relief image of a patrol ship walking on the waves and surrounded by helicopters flying in the sky. Over the helicopters there is the waving banner of the Coastguard of the Federal Security Service.
The basis of the flag is the Navy (St. Andrew’s) Russian flag: a waving green cloth with dark blue diagonal cross edged with white stripe.
The inscription on the tag says: “Coastguard of FSB”. “FSB” is an abbreviation which stans for Russian Federal Security Service.
