An Orthodox Christian Easter Egg made of finewood with the image of the Icon of “Our Lady of Smolensk” (Hodegetria).
According to legend, the icon was painted by St. Luke the Evangelist in the earthly life of the Virgin Mary.
The iconographic image of the Smolensk Icon is similar to the Iver Icon of Our Lady (the Iverskaya Virgin). The only difference is in the severity of facial expressions and the location of the figures of Our Lady and Christ Child.
A gilted silver chest icon (breastplate) with an image of the Our Lady.
It represents the scene of the talk between the Blessed Virgin and Baby Jesus, faced each other. The image of the Blessed Virgin is waist-deep, the Baby sits on the left Mother’s hand, with His legs bent in knees right foot under the left one. In His left hand He holds a roll, with the right one He blesses.
